Community Projects

For over 70 years, The Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls has sought to improve life in the Cedar Valley. Countless lives have been touched through the volunteer efforts and financial resources contributed by Junior League.

The Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls is announcing their 2010-2011 focus project, Safe Rides for Kids. According to the Safe Kids USA website, motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among children ages 2-14. Nearly 73% of all child restraints are not installed or used properly. The proper use of child safety seats reduced risk of motor vehicle death by 71% in children ages 14 and under.

Junior League strives to provide new and innovative programs that benefit women and children in the community. By focusing on Safe Rides for Kids, Junior League hopes to provide the education that parents need to ensure their children are protected in motor vehicles.

Local community organizations looking to partner with the Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls on this focus project should complete the application (link is below). Complete applications should be submitted to the JLWCF, Vice President of Community Impact by September 17, 2010.
